End-user license agreement
Last updated: 25 August 2026
This agreement is between you (the person or organization that bought the licence) and the publisher of Queue Up. Buying, installing or using the software means you accept it. It is written in plain English on purpose.
1. What you are buying
A perpetual, non-exclusive licence to use Queue Up, plus twelve months of updates from the date of purchase. You are buying a licence to use the software, not the software itself β copyright stays with the publisher.
2. How many machines
- Single β one person, on one machine, plus one spare machine that you own and use yourself (your laptop and the backup in the bag). Not two people at once.
- Venue β up to three machines within one venue or organization, used by whoever is operating that night.
- Site β any number of machines within one organization.
You may move the licence to a replacement machine whenever you like. You may not publish your licence key, or give it to anyone outside the terms above.
Every version is covered. Your key works on macOS, on Windows for Intel and AMD, and on Windows for ARM. Within your machine allowance you may install whichever builds you need and change platform whenever you like β there is no separate edition to buy, and no charge for moving between them.
3. What happens after twelve months
Nothing. The version you have keeps working, permanently and with no reduction in function. There is nothing to renew β no subscription, no expiry, and no check-in that can fail. What ends is only your entitlement to versions released from then on. Buying that entitlement again later is an ordinary purchase of newer software, available whenever you want it, and never required.
What lapses is new versions, and that has one practical consequence worth stating plainly. Each release is supported on the operating systems listed for it when it shipped, and no further. If you later update macOS or Windows to a version released after yours was, your copy may not run correctly on it, and there is no obligation to make it do so β no patch to a version already issued, and no back-porting of a fix. What you are guaranteed is that your copy keeps working on the system it worked on before.
Compatibility with a newer operating system arrives in a later release. If your twelve months are running you receive it as a matter of course; if they have passed, buying the newer versions is how you get it, at any time. That offer is always available and is never withdrawn β but it is a purchase of newer software rather than a repair of yours, and updating your own operating system is not a fault in the software you bought.
3b. Bugs and fixes
Bugs are fixed in the next release. There are no patches to a version already issued, no hotfixes and no individual builds, so the way to receive a fix is to be on a current version. No promise is made that any particular bug will be fixed, or fixed by any particular date, and none that the software is free of them β see clause 7.
Support is included for as long as you own the software: one person, answering email, with no service level and no guaranteed response time. If a defect means the software does not do what the website says it does, the refund policy is the remedy, and it is deliberately generous.
4. What you may not do
- Resell, rent, sublicense or redistribute the software.
- Remove or alter licensing, copyright or attribution notices.
- Reverse-engineer it, except to the extent that law expressly permits despite this restriction.
5. Trial
The trial is the complete application for 30 days. It is for evaluation. Deliberately resetting it to extend the period is a breach of this agreement, although β as you will notice β nothing stops you technically. We would rather trust you.
6. Your files and your privacy
Queue Up makes no network connections. It does not collect, transmit or store anything about you, your machine or your audio. Your files never leave your computer. See the privacy page for what the website does.
7. No warranty
The software is provided βas isβ. We have tested it and we use it ourselves in front of audiences, but no software is guaranteed to be free of defects. To the fullest extent the law allows, there is no warranty of merchantability or fitness for a particular purpose.
8. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, our total liability is limited to what you paid for the licence. We are not liable for indirect or consequential loss β including lost bookings, lost revenue or the consequences of a show that did not go to plan. Always have a backup plan for audio. Anyone who has worked live knows why that sentence is here.
Nothing in this agreement limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, or for anything else that cannot lawfully be limited.
9. Where and how you use it is your responsibility
Queue Up is sold for use worldwide, and what is lawful varies from one country, state and venue to the next. It is your responsibility to check that your use of this software, and of the material you play through it, complies with every law and regulation that applies to you. That includes, but is not limited to:
- Music licensing and performing rights. Playing recorded music to an audience usually requires a licence from a collecting society, from the venue or from you, depending on where you are. This software grants you no rights whatsoever in the audio you play through it.
- Copyright in your files. You are responsible for having the right to use every file you load.
- Local rules on recording, broadcast and public performance, and any conditions imposed by the venue you are working in.
- Import, export and sanctions rules that may restrict the supply or use of software in your country.
We make no representation that the software or its use is lawful in any particular jurisdiction. If any part of your intended use would not be, do not use it for that. We accept no liability arising from use that breaches any law or regulation applying to you.
Copy protection. Queue Up contains no means of removing, circumventing or working around any technical protection measure, and none will be added. It passes files to your operating systemβs own decoders; a protected file β from a streaming or audiobook service, say β will simply not play. Supplying it with audio you are entitled to use is your responsibility, and using it alongside any tool that defeats copy protection is outside the terms of this licence.
10. Third-party components
Queue Up has no runtime dependencies of its own. It is built on Electron, which bundles Chromium and Node.js; between them those include several hundred open-source components under MIT, BSD, Apache 2.0, LGPL and other licences. They are the work of others, and nothing in this agreement affects your rights under their terms.
The attribution is in Settings βΈ License βΈ Third-party notices inside the application. The complete Chromium licence set ships with the application as well β LICENSES.chromium.html beside Queue Up.exe on Windows, and inside the application bundle on macOS.
10b. Artificial intelligence
Nothing here restricts your use of AI. You may use AI tools alongside the software however you like β to plan a running order, to name or organize your files, to write something that produces audio you then play, to work out how to set the app up, or to ask an assistant questions about it. What you play through Queue Up is your business, whether a person or a machine made it; clause 9 still applies, in that the rights in what you play remain your responsibility.
AI tools were used in building this software, its website and its documentation, with a person reviewing and testing before release. That is stated openly rather than left to be discovered, and it changes nothing about what is promised here: the warranty position in clause 7, the liability limits in clause 8 and the refund policy are exactly as written either way.
What an AI assistant says about Queue Up is not a statement by us, and is not part of this agreement. Only this site and the manual are.
11. Ending it
The licence ends if you materially breach these terms and do not put it right within 30 days of being asked. You may stop using the software at any time.
12. Law
This agreement is governed by the laws of the State of Florida, United States, without regard to its conflict of laws rules, and the state and federal courts located in Florida are where any dispute would be brought.
If you are a consumer, that does not take anything away from you. You keep every right you have under the law of the country you live in, including the right to bring proceedings there, and any protection your own law gives you that cannot be signed away still applies whatever this section says.
