Every build that has been replaced, kept here rather than deleted. This is not where to start — the current version is 1.8.38 and it is the one to install unless you have a reason not to.
Who this is for. A licence includes twelve months of updates, so if yours has passed you own a particular build rather than the newest one. Reinstalling should not force you onto a version you have not bought, and it should not force you to choose between that and nothing — so the build you are entitled to stays here, permanently.
It is also the honest answer to a newer release that does not suit you: an operating system you would rather not upgrade, a machine that was happier on the version before, or a show next week that is not the moment to change anything. Your license key works on all of them.

Two things worth knowing
Older builds are not supported and are not fixed. They are here as they were on the day they were replaced. A bug in one of them is fixed in a later release, never as a patch to the build itself — see the support page for what that means in practice.
Each release is supported on the operating systems it shipped for. An old build on a new operating system is the one combination most likely to disappoint, and it is not something a licence can fix. If you have updated macOS or Windows recently, the current version is the one built for it.
